Hey Jule
"I'm afraid to tell you this, Jadzia, but these songs are totally irrelevant now."
"Oh, do you think so, Julian?"
"Well, certainly - just look at these lyrics. The Beatles were popular, what? - four hundred YEARS ago? On Earth? I really think your little 'Beatles Karaoke Night at Quark's' is going to drive everyone away except for a few history buffs."
"So you don't think their songs have anything to say to you?"
"No I don't."
"Well, thank you for helping me set things up, anyway. I saw Garak on my way over here, by the way - I asked him to come and help, too."
"Garak's coming here? Isn't this the morning he always spends with the little tramp- I mean the little girlfriend- I mean Ziyal?"
"I really don't know. I asked him to help me put songs and lyric sheets in order, and he said he would. PARTICULARLY when I told him you'd be here."
"Oh, I'll bet. Listen, I don't think I'll -"
"Oh, Julian, would you mind turning that song up a little louder? It's always been one of my very favorites. <sings> *Hey Jule, don't make it bad, take a sad song and make it better, remember to let him into your heart, then you can start to make it better.*"
"Isn't that 'Hey JUDE'? According to these lyrics, anyway?"
"Shh, listen - *For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool by making his world a little colder...*"
"All right, Jadzia, I know you're trying to tell me something, as usual. Oh, look, here's Garak - Hello, Garak. Where's your- where's Ziyal?"
"Doctor, I don't keep track of her whereabouts at all times."
"Sorry, I didn't know that. Oh, a good song's starting now - <sings> *Well, she was just seventeen, you know what I mean, and the way she looked was way beyond compare, so how could you dance with another, when you saw her standing there?*"
"Very funny. Here's one that might be a little more to the point - <sings> *Little child, little child, little child won't you dance with me? I'm so sad and lonely, baby take a chance with me.*"
"My heart bleeds for you, Garak. *I call your name, but you're not there. Was I to blame for being unfair? Oh, I can't sleep at night since you've been gone, I never weep at night, I can't go on.*"
"That's being a little dramatic, wouldn't you say, doctor?"
"Gentlemen, please - stop changing the songs that fast - I can't get them entered properly."
"Sorry, Jadzia. Here's a nice one, Garak - *I've got something to say that might cause you pain: if I catch you talking to that girl again I'm gonna let you down and leave you flat, because I told you before, oh, you can't do that!*"
"Julian, *You'll never know how much I really love you, you'll never know how much I really care.*"
"Nice, Garak, nice. So much for being discreet around - certain busybodies."
"If you think I'm listening to either ONE of you - oh, and did I ever tell you that neither of you boys can sing worth a damn?"
"*Half of what I say is meaningless, but I say it just to reach you, Julian.*"
"Garak, please! *What goes on in your heart, what goes on in your mind, you are tearing me apart, when you treat me so unkind...*"
"*Try to see it my way. Do I have to keep on talking till I can't go on? While you see it your way, run the risk of knowing that our love may soon be gone - we can work it out, we can work it out.*"
"I doubt it. *I've got a word or two, to say about the things that you do. You're telling all those lies,*"
"*Life is very short, and there's no time for fussing and fighting, my friend!*"
"Stop changing the song! *I'm looking through you, where did you go? I thought I knew you, what did I know? You don't look different, but you have changed - I'm looking through you, and you're not the same!*"
"Julian, Garak - what do you think of THIS one? *Black, white, green, red, can I take my friend to bed?*"
<groans>
"Back to the other one, Garak - *Why, tell me why, did you not treat me right? Love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight.*"
"*It's been along time, now I'm coming back home. I've been away now, oh how I've been alone. Wait till I come back to your side, we'll forget the tears we cried.*"
"Yeah, sure. *When you told me you didn't need me any more, well you know I nearly broke down and died.*"
"When did I ever tell you THAT?"
"It's a song, Garak, it's only a song."
"Ah. *Oh darling, if you leave me, I'll never make it alone, believe me when I beg you, don't ever leave me alone.*"
"Garak -"
"It's only a song, doctor."
"*Who knows how long I've loved you, you know I love you still; will I wait a lonely lifetime? If you want me to, I will.*"
"*Love you forever and forever, love you with all my heart, love you whenever we're together, love you when we're apart.* Yes, nice song."
*If I fell in love with you, would you promise to be true and help me understand? Cause I've been in love before, and I found that love was more than just holding hands.*"
"Doctor - Julian - *If there's something that I've said or done, tell me what and I'll apologize - if you don't, I really can't go on, holding back these tears in my eyes -*"
"Boys - I just remembered, there's something I forgot to do. I'd better go now. Lock up for me when you're finished here, will you? And thanks again for - helping me."
"See you later, Jadzia."
"I hope I was of some help, Commander."
"Oh yes - we accomplished quite a lot here. Hey, great song you've got playing - *He said you hurt him so, he almost lost his mind, but now he says he knows you're not the hurting kind.* Bye, fellas."
"Julian - *Ooh, then I suddenly see you, ooh, did I tell you I need you, every single day of my life?* Do you remember that day?"
"How could I forget it, Garak? *I want you, I want you so bad, I want you, I want you so bad, it's driving me mad, it's driving me mad.*"
"Is THAT what you were thinking? Why didn't you tell me? Or is that just a song, too? *All these years I've been wandering around, wondering how come nobody told me all that I was looking for was somebody who looked like YOU.*"
"You never asked, Garak, and anyway, *I want to tell you, my head is filled with things to say. When you're here, all those words they seem to slip away. When I get near you, the games begin to drag me down...*"
"*But if I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind, that is confusing things!*"
"Really?"
"What do you suppose? Do you know what I've been thinking, all these years? *Imagine I'm in love with you. It's easy, cause I know I've imagined I'm in love with you many, many, many times before. It's not like me to pretend-"
<Julian smirks>
"-but I'll get you, I'll get you in the end! Yes I will - I'll get you in the end.*"
"Garak, *I think about you night and day. I need you, and it's true, when I think about you, I can say I'm never, never, never, never blue. So I'm telling you, my friend, that I'll get you, I'll get you in the end! Yes I will, I'll get you in the end.*"
<together> "*Well, there's gonna be a time, when I'm gonna change your mind, so you might as well resign yourself to me, oh yeah!*"
"Garak - let's shut off the song program and get out of here."
"Fine with me, doctor." <moves toward computer console>
"No, wait - one more song's coming up. It's just a short one - *Why don't we do it in the road? Why don't we do it in the road? No one will be watching us. Why don't we do it in the road?*"
"Very funny, Julian. End of concert."
"All right, let's go. I'm tired of playing all this old music anyway. Irrelevant, totally irrelevant."
